Employment law update: significant changes ahead

We’re teaming up with HRNZ’s Canterbury Branch for this seminar that explores the significant number of employment law changes that are on the horizon.

Come along to our Christchurch office to hear from Andrew Shaw, Lane Neave Managing Partner, and Jack McLuskie, Technical Lead, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

Together, they’ll look at the proposed:

•    Removal of certain personal grievance rights for high-income earners.
•    New gateway test for assessing whether a worker is a contractor.
•    Holidays Act reform.
•    Removal of certain remedy entitlements when employees are at fault.
•    Changes to pay secrecy laws.
•    New laws regarding the obligation to retain employment agreements.
•    New Bill that would allow without prejudice negotiations in more circumstances.
•    Health and safety changes for small, low-risk businesses.
