Mahafrin is a Senior Solicitor at our Auckland office.
Her experience includes advising corporations and government entities on immigration matters but on a larger scale, assisting families, individuals and private clients on their immigration journey. During her career, Mahafrin has gained experience in representing clients in a range of complex matters including medical and character waivers, section 61 requests, Ministerial requests and deportation matters.
She is regarded as a specialist within her field having written articles for Legalwise and the LawTalk on a range of immigration issues.
Coming from a migrant background, Mahafrin understands the challenges migrants face when accessing legal services and dealing with government agencies which is why she believes in providing tailored and pragmatic legal advice while keeping in mind her client’s cultural and religious background. She speaks a range of languages (Hindi, Gujarati and Punjabi) and has extensive experience acting for clients from various communities.
Mahafrin was appointed as a member of the New Zealand Law Society – Immigration and Refugee Law Committee in 2019 and volunteers at the Auckland Community Law Centre’s evening clinics.
