Rebecca is a specialist building and construction lawyer, with a broad range of experience including both front-end (non-contentious) and back-end (contentious) matters across New Zealand.

Her experience includes:

  • Dispute resolution: Ranging from minor residential disputes to major commercial disputes typically relating to payment, defective/incomplete works, variations, delay/extensions of time, etc. and involving negotiation, mediation, adjudication under the Construction Contracts Act 2002, claims in the Weathertight Homes Tribunal, and proceedings in the District and High Court.
  • Contract drafting and negotiation: All matters relating to drafting, interpreting and negotiating various types of contracts, including construction contracts, residential and commercial building contracts, civil works contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements, services agreements, requests for tender and pre-construction services agreements. This also includes drafting deeds of variation, negotiation of contractual provisions, and reviewing and responding to tender tags.

Rebecca has advised Crown departments, various building and construction companies, as well as commercial and residential property owners and investors.
