Privacy Law seminar: February 2020

Did you miss the Christchurch Privacy Law seminar in June this year?

We have received a number of requests to repeat the Privacy Law seminar from people in Christchurch who were unable to attend the session on 12 June 2019.

Seminar overview

Privacy is increasingly complex, and soon there will be entirely new legislation regulating the area. The aim of this seminar is to highlight the most significant changes and give you an understanding of how the key changes may affect your business.

Senior employment partner, Andrew Shaw, and specialist technology partner, Graeme Crombie, will also discuss the steps you should take now to be ready for the new law.

Key topics include:

  • Proposed new obligations in managing personal information
  • Privacy Commissioner’s proposed new enforcement powers
  • Current remedies for breach of privacy – examples
  • Mandatory breach reporting – example scenarios
  • Managing complaints
  • How to stay compliant

Who should attend?

Business owners, directors, management, general counsel, HR professionals, privacy officers and anyone with an interest in privacy and data protection would benefit from attending.
