Discussion Document: ‘Towards a Digital Strategy for Aotearoa’

The ‘Towards a Digital Strategy for Aotearoa’ Discussion Document was released on 6 October 2021.  The purpose of the Discussion Document is to seek comments from the public as part of a process to develop a digital strategy for New Zealand that will enable “all of Aotearoa New Zealand to flourish and prosper in a digital world”.  A copy of the Discussion Document can be found here.

It focuses on three areas: trust, inclusion and growth.  For each of these areas, the Discussion Document outlines what is considered important, what the opportunities are, what activities are currently being pursued, and poses various questions for feedback.  There are also sections that provide context for New Zealand’s position in a digital world and discuss how progress can be tracked and success measured.  As well as setting a great foundation for developing a digital strategy, it provides a very useful summary of all the Government’s current digital activities.  It is well worth a read.

Submissions on it close on 10 November 2021.  There are a variety of ways in which submissions can be given.  For more information on how to make a submission, check out the Government’s website here.  Please contact us if you’d like any assistance in making a submission.
