Free workshops: Residence pathways for your parents

If you are a New Zealand citizen or resident, and considering applying for residence for your parents, please feel free to join our free workshops in Auckland or Christchurch.

The Parent Category reopened in November 2022 with the first Expression of Interest selection from the ballot pool coming up soon in August 2023.

The Parent Retirement Category is also available for parents of New Zealanders to obtain residence by investing at least NZD 1 million in New Zealand for four years.

This free one-hour workshop is aimed at helping attendees to:

  • understand the application requirements (including income, English language and physical presence), fees and procedures for their parents to apply for New Zealand resident visas, under both categories;
  • differentiate between the two categories and assess whether they can support their parents for an application.

Join Lane Neave Partners Rachael Mason and Julia Strickett and Mandarin-speaking lawyers, Winnie Chen and Ken Huang, who will take the attendees through the various aspects of these two residence policies, including:

  • an overview of both policies and application requirements;
  • health and character requirements;
  • timeline and INZ application process; and
  • common issues, tips and tricks.
