Lane Neave was pleased to advise iconic Canterbury business, Harrington’s Breweries on the sale of their brewing business to industry giant, Lion.
Harrington’s is a nationally recognised name in craft beer, starting as a one of only two independent brewers in operation 27 years ago and has since gone on to win over 100 awards. The sale to Lion represents an opportunity to further extend their market reach and protect the brand for the future.
The sale includes famous brands such as Rogue Hop, Wobbly Boot and Ngahere Gold along with the purpose-built brewing and bottling facility in Sockburn.
Harrington’s Breweries was represented by Partner, Ashley Taggart, and assisted by Senior Associate, Joelle Grace.
Lane Neave worked closely with owners, John and Val Harrington and representatives from KPMG, on all aspects of the transaction, including due diligence, structuring, sale negotiations and completion of the transaction.
“This transaction was the product of a long and sustained period of hard work by Harrington’s Breweries and its consultants,” said Taggart.
“We were pleased to assist our clients in selling this historic brand and being part of a transaction that is a fantastic outcome for both parties.”
