Cheri-Rose (Cheri) graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology in 2018, a Bachelor of Laws in 2019, and a Master of Human Rights in 2020.
Cheri specialises in immigration law and her expertise spans across the jurisdiction with experience across multiple visa types, and associated complexities. This includes – but is not limited to – employer-led migration, various work-based visas, residency, partnership-based applications, potentially prejudicial information responses, character waivers, Ministerial Special Directions and appeals to the Immigration and Protection Tribunal (IPT).
Cheri also has litigation experience, specific to the Waitangi Tribunal and the High Court under the Marine and Coastal Area Act 2011, where this skill set is often applied in appeals lodged with the IPT.
As a migrant herself, she has a particular focus on easing the unknown and often unappreciated stress of migration that clients often experience, streamlining the visa process with clear and successful guidance. She enjoys working on complex matters and building meaningful working relationships with a people-first approach.
