Georgie is an Associate in the Employment Law team in our Christchurch office, advising on a wide range of employment law matters, including health and safety, privacy breaches and workplace investigations.
With more than seven years of experience, Georgie builds strong client relationships and delivers pragmatic, tailored advice to resolve issues and protect her clients’ interests.
Experience and work highlights
- Dispute resolution, including preparing and responding to personal grievances and privacy breaches.
- Representing clients in mediations and conducting exits.
- Managing claims in the Employment Relations Authority.
- Advising both individuals and employers on a wide range of matters, including disciplinary processes, restructuring and redundancy, performance management, discrimination, whistleblowing/protected disclosures, long-term sickness, termination of employment, and exit negotiations.
- Advising employers on minimum entitlements under the Holidays Act 2003.
- Reviewing and updating employment documentation, including agreements and policies.
- Advising companies and councils regarding their health and safety duties, and compliance with legislation.
- Preparing responses to WorkSafe investigations, including attending interviews.
- Assisting clients with general regulatory matters.
In addition to her private practice experience, Georgie has worked in-house at the Government Legal Department in London, where she managed employment litigation for public sector agencies. This involved navigating complex employment issues including discrimination – on grounds of disability, pregnancy/maternity, sex, race, and religion – victimisation, failure to make reasonable adjustments, and flexible working.
Before relocating to London, Georgie was a Senior Solicitor at a large New Zealand firm and has a wider background working in civil and public litigation, including judicial review.
Georgie joined Lane Neave in October 2025 and has been enjoying co-hosting seminars and writing articles on employment and health and safety issues.
