Jack Whittam is a Solicitor in the Christchurch Employment Team. Jack started at Lane Neave as a Summer Clerk in 2020 and was admitted as a Solicitor in 2021.
Within the Employment Team, Jack advises on a range of employment related matters for both employers and employees. In particular, Jack regularly advises on personal grievances, disciplinary procedures, workplace investigations and minimum entitlements. Jack also has experience assisting the team with matters in the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court.
Jack is a solutions oriented individual who takes pride in providing clients with sound legal advice. Jack also has a keen interest in the interplay between employment law and accident compensation law. His work on this subject has been published in the Canterbury Law Review.
Prior to joining the firm, Jack completed his studies part time while sitting on the Board of Directors of the University of Canterbury Students’ Association. This governance experience helps Jack provide pragmatic advice to corporate clients.
