Robert is an associate in the litigation and dispute resolution team based in Christchurch. He joined Lane Neave in April 2024 after six and a half years at another Christchurch firm.
Robert works on a variety of litigation matters and has appeared as counsel in the District Court, Family Court and as junior counsel to a number of top New Zealand Kings Counsel in the High Court. Robert has also represented clients at mediation and other alternative dispute resolution forums.
He began his career working in general practice law before specialising in litigation, which has given him valuable experience in dealing with a wide range of legal issues across different areas of the law. As well as general commercial litigation, Robert has particular experience in complex trust and estate litigation, and relationship property law.
Robert takes a careful and considered approach to his work. He enjoys working out what the key issues in a dispute really are so that he can provide strategic and pragmatic solutions that are tailored to the client’s specific situation.
