Litigation Partner Ben Russell today becomes Lane Neave’s Managing Partner, marking the next chapter in the firm’s leadership.
The move marks an evolution of Ben’s long-term leadership within the firm – building on his existing role as head of Lane Neave’s Dispute Resolution team and long-standing Board member. As well as maintaining an active caseload, Ben’s focus will expand to leading the partnership and supporting the firm’s people to deliver on Lane Neave’s mission.
“It’s a privilege to work alongside our Board and management team to continue supporting our people to deliver excellent legal capability and outstanding client service,” he says.
“Another key priority for me is to work with my Partners to continue fostering a culture that ensures Lane Neave remains a great place to work.”
Ben’s appointment comes as long-standing Managing Partner Andrew Shaw steps down from the partnership to practise as an employment law barrister.
For Ben, the appointment is a continuation of his progression within the firm. After joining Lane Neave in 2008 and becoming Partner the following year, he has led the Dispute Resolution team since 2014.
Having seen the firm grow from a single Christchurch office of around 60 people to today’s nationwide team of more than 160, Ben brings both continuity and a fresh perspective as Lane Neave looks to the future
“I’m focused on maintaining the firm’s strong foundations while building on our recent growth.
“Lane Neave has a proud 150-year history and long-standing client relationships across the country. Our priority is to continue focusing on both our people and our clients – that’s what drives our success,” he says.
A specialist in commercial litigation and insolvency, Ben has extensive experience advising on contract, property, insurance, and shareholder disputes.
