Lane Neave is thrilled to welcome Arran Hunt, who today, 6 July 2026, joins the firm in Auckland as a Partner in our Immigration Law team.
Arran is a highly regarded immigration specialist, known for his work across complex private client matters, including medical and humanitarian cases, appeals before the Immigration and Protection Tribunal, and acting for individuals who are in New Zealand unlawfully.
He is particularly recognised for his practical, client-focused approach and his ability to navigate challenging and sensitive immigration situations.
Arran’s appointment enhances the bench-strength of our Immigration Law team, with him joining Christchurch-based Immigration Partners Rachael Mason and Mark Williams who lead a large nationwide team.
In addition to his immigration law expertise, Arran has extensive experience in online harm, privacy and defamation law. He has developed a reputation as a leading voice in this evolving area, supported by a significant social media presence and regular speaking engagements. His work includes contributing to discussions on balancing education with online harm, particularly in relation to under-16s, and presenting to parliamentary select committees, where his insights have been referenced in broader policy conversations.
Arran’s pathway into immigration followed a corporate career, with the creation of his own immigration practice in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. He successfully grew the practice into a high-performing team, underpinning a broader legal offering and delivering strong outcomes for clients.
Arran will work closely with clients across the country, bringing energy, expertise and a fresh perspective that aligns with Lane Neave’s commitment to delivering practical, full-service legal solutions.
