Chris is a Christchurch-based property lawyer and Partner in Lane Neave’s Commercial Property team. He joined Lane Neave in late 2009 as a Law Clerk and entered into Partnership in 2019.
Chris specialises in advising on residential and commercial developments, property transactions and commercial leasing. As part of these workstreams a large part of Chris’ practice also includes advising clients on matters involving property financing in both the private credit and institutional lending sectors. His client base includes a number of well-established large residential and commercial developers and national businesses.
Chris also has large private client practice and often advises on succession and estate planning as well as general asset-protection matters.
Approach
Chris is known for his clear, practical and responsive communication while providing commercially focused advice that clients’ can act on with confidence. He forms strong relationships with clients, many of his which he has acted for since he first started practicing.
Governance and community roles
Chris is a member of the Lane Neave Board, Medbury School Foundation Board, and is a Trustee of the Christchurch Art Gallery Foundation.
